Berlin, 15 June 2020 — ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and John Wiley & Sons Inc., a global leader in research and education, announced further plans to connect researchers with the companies and organizations that provide services and products that can support their work. This follows on the heels of the announcement last month bringing the two companies together to better support the needs of researchers through ResearchGate's collaboration platform.
As part of the commercial agreement, ResearchGate and Wiley will collaborate to provide high-quality and targeted content-marketing solutions for companies and organizations wanting to engage with and support researchers.
"ResearchGate has the largest and most engaged audience of researchers in the world; and Wiley is a leading provider of high-quality content and learning experiences – together this is a powerful proposition," says Todd Toler, Vice President of Product Strategy and Partnerships at Wiley. "At Wiley, we continue to evolve and collaborate to best serve researchers; our partnership with ResearchGate is a very natural extension of that."
Darren Alvares, Head of Advertising Solutions at ResearchGate: "We have years of experience and a lot of data that shows that ResearchGate users are receptive to high-quality content marketing from companies who can support their research with products and services. With Wiley's pedigree as a source of trusted, quality content for researchers, we're excited to develop this commercial collaboration to bring value to both researchers and marketers."
As part of the agreement, the organizations will phase in new information and learning experiences for researchers and offer Wiley commercial partners a means to reach targeted communities on ResearchGate, one of the most visited websites in science. In the coming months, ResearchGate's scientific advertising customers will be able to integrate Wiley's high-quality content into their campaigns creating relevant and meaningful learning experiences for researchers.
Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of ResearchGate says, "By matching ResearchGate's reach and engagement with Wiley's ability to create information products for science, we will generate real value for researchers together. This will also enable our customers to engage with and support researchers in new ways, in the place where researchers are in discovery mode."
The partnership between Wiley and ResearchGate demonstrates how different players in the research community can innovate and collaborate to develop new approaches that help researchers become more connected, more collaborative, and more efficient.
Wiley and ResearchGate are committed to the protection of intellectual property rights for authors and publishers; and through this partnership, both companies will continue to support principled sharing of content while facilitating the discovery of and access to high-quality scholarly content for researchers.
