OCLC is highest ranked supplier on latest APUC Framework Agreement for Library Management Systems

Sheffield, UK, 2 July 2020. OCLC is the highest ranked supplier on the latest APUC Framework Agreement for Library Management Systems. Following a competitive tender evaluation process, OCLC's WorldShare Management Services achieved the highest overall score. The APUC Framework looks closely at development, implementation and support, and the functional capabilities of systems so that APUC members do not have to go through a tender process.

Founded in 2007, the APUC (Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges) group is a procurement centre of expertise that works with the 19 higher education and 23 further education institutions in Scotland to encourage collaboration, innovation, and value. OCLC scored well on both Quality and Price to achieve the overall highest score within the framework evaluation process.

"OCLC was the first to move library management services to the cloud, continuing a long history and tradition of technological innovation," said Eric van Lubeek, Vice President, Managing Director, OCLC EMEA & APAC. "We are delighted with this validation from APUC, whose ranking illustrates just how far WorldShare Management Services has advanced."

An advanced, cloud-based library services platform, WorldShare Management Services (WMS) saves library staff time and resources by helping them easily manage electronic, digital, and physical materials, all in one interface. With WorldCat as its foundation, WMS allows for drawing on the collaborative data and work of libraries worldwide for more efficient workflows.

This initial two-year framework agreement is not exclusively for Scottish institutions and can be used by members of other UK regional HE and FE purchasing associations.
