Southeast Community College has selected The Library Corporation's Library.Solution as their next-generation library management platform.
TLC values the importance of Southeast Community College in Nebraska and looks forward to enhancing the library experience for their borrowers. Southeast Community College has three campuses in Lincoln, Beatrice, and Milford, Nebraska. The community college services over nine thousand borrowers while offering its students over 50 programs of study. In addition to Library.Solution serving as the college's library management software, TLC's Hosted.Solution will be utilized to host Southeast Community College's data which includes over 58,000 titles.
Southeast Community College Students also have the ability to present their SCC IDs and a copy of their current class schedule to check out material at most Nebraska academic libraries, including UNL, Wesleyan, Union College, Doane, Bellevue, and Concordia.
Lyndsi Elias, Director of Library Services for Southeast Community College, was aware of the benefit Library.Solution would bring to the college's students, having used TLC's system previously at Omaha Public Schools. "The system has a clean interface that our students are used to and would really benefit from," stated Elias.
This was Elias' first experience implementing a library management platform and she was very happy with the implementation process. "The pacing was very helpful. Navigating multiple campuses, TLC was always quick to not only answer my calls or emails but move meetings as schedules would change," said Elias.
With the pandemic taking hold shortly after Southwest Community College implemented Library.Solution, students and staff alike quickly benefited from new features, especially in the discovery layer, which they did not have access to before. "Virtually browsing the shelf within LS2 PAC has really been a help to students working remotely. They are not in the building but to be able to visually search the stacks has been helpful to students looking for additional material. Also, having a system with native ebook integration not only means the students have more access to eresources, but my staff does not need to use extra time manipulating our metadata in the hopes students will find what we have to offer".
"TLC is happy to be working with Southeast Community College," stated TLC founder and CEO, Annette Murphy. "Community Colleges are so vital to the continuing education of millions of Americans after High School and we are happy that we can support Southeast Community College on its mission."
