TLC Launches Successful Webinar Series in Response to COVID-19

The team at The Library Corporation has been amazed and proud of the level of effort libraries across the country have taken to continue to serve their communities in the time of COVID-19. We have recognized the unique and inventive ways libraries have pivoted and we have found inspiration in their work.

Webinar Wednesday, a new and exciting professional development series, is a direct result of TLC seeking solutions to continue to provide substantive and valuable resources to our communities, libraries. This free series is designed to not only appeal to TLC customers using Library.Solution or CARL.X but also to anyone in the library industry looking to further enhance their knowledge and library's services.

TLC had over 600 attendees and 1,000 total registrants across four recent webinars, with topics including:

  • TLC's Data Services
  • CARL.Connect Discovery‘s newly enhanced FRBR-ized OPAC
  • LS2 Inventory
  • Marketing Automation with TLC's product partner Patron Point

Each 30-minute presentation included an interactive Q&A session for further engagement. TLC's Director of Marketing Strategy, Jamison Reynolds, stated, "We felt that now was a great opportunity to provide professional development sessions to libraries as a way to continue to enhance their knowledge about not only product offerings but industry trends and community support tools as well."

Library staff agreed with the timeliness and helpfulness of the webinars. Chris Rumas, the Manager of Digital Literacy at Sault Ste. Marie Public Library, shared: "I have also been attending most of the TLC webinars that have been offered since they are relevant to what I do and my staff does." Jay Pinson of New Hanover County Public Library agreed that the "webinar was great – short and to the point."

This news comes in the wake of many recent initiatives and accomplishments of TLC in response to the global pandemic, including streamlined support for extended library closures, proactive customer engagements, and increased blogs and guides for reopening the library. Rumas included that he "also wanted to thank the TLC staff for everything that they have been doing during this pandemic to make things easier for us."

Past webinars of this series have been recorded and are available in the webinar archive. To learn more about TLC's Webinar Wednesday series and to register for upcoming webinars, please visit https://tlcdelivers.com/webinars/.
