05 November 2019. Greensboro Public Library (GPL) in Greensboro, North Carolina, has signed on to implement OCLC Wise, the first community engagement system for U.S. public libraries.
"GPL, an active local advocate working to foster lifelong learning and free and equal access to information in Greensboro, is the first Wise library in North Carolina," said Director Brigitte Blanton, who prioritizes community engagement as an integral part of how the library does business. "Wise will support ongoing efforts to make the library a true reflection of the city and it will ensure that every decision helps engage and empower the community. The customer is firmly at the center as we look to the future, and we're driving forward with purpose to make data informed decisions and increase our impact."
GPL is dedicated to energizing their service area. "We're inspired by GPL's enthusiasm for the success of their community," said Mary Sauer-Games, OCLC Vice President, Global Product Management. "Whether it's through innovative local partnerships or community listening sessions, the GPL team is committed to transforming the library to meet local needs. We look forward to partnering with them as they integrate Wise into their vision."
