TLC.SmartTECH goes on the Road

After hosting an open house, TLC.SmartTECH goes on the road

On March 27th, TLC hosted an open house in our West Virginia office for customers and local legislators, featuring products from our SmartTECH line. With our STEM initiative evolving over the course of years, we are curating numerous products and solutions for libraries and schools. The TLC.SmartTECH team displayed what a makerspace with no limitations can look like, pushing the boundaries of innovation, design, engineering, and art for the 21st century classroom and library.

"The mental image of makerspaces many people have is that of kids and young adults learning about STEM through hands on activities," said Jamison Reynolds, the Director of Marketing Strategy at TLC. "But watching the buzz from adults as they engaged with our curated STEM solutions was amazing to see."

The application of makerspace and STEM technology is rapidly expanding, and as consultative resellers who know the products, our TLC.SmartTECH team can help librarians and educators explore how to best use their budget to build their own unique IDEA labs. Our commitment doesn't stop at the technology, though. The SmartTECH team also designs education programs that glue the gadgets to the goals of learning and library services.

To see our team in action, join them as they present a robotics lesson concerning asthma awareness in partnership with Children's National Health Systems on April 27th at the Shaw (Watha T. Daniel) Neighborhood Library from 2-4 p.m.

Our team is also attending the Wonder Women Tech Global Summit at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. on May 1st. The summit features prominent women in STEM-related fields working together to highlight, celebrate and educate women and the underrepresented in STEAM industries.

On Thursday, May 9th, TLC.SmartTECH will be in Spring Mills, W.Va., demonstrating how 3D printing is utilized to enhance the classroom and education experience.
