April 16, 2019 -- Arlington, VA and New York, NY: Koios, the company that helps libraries show up first in Google results, has achieved the designation of Google Ad Grants Certified Professional. This means Koios has been fully certified by Google itself as an official partner that specializes in helping nonprofits win and manage Google Ad Grants.
The Google Ad Grants program has been in place since 2004, but this certification was just created in 2018. The program offers $10,000/month in advertising credit to qualifying nonprofits such as libraries, in perpetuity. Grant recipients use this credit to buy the keyword-triggered ads that appear at the top of Google search results. This enables the nonprofits to set up location-specific advertising campaigns for any product or service, and guarantees they'll be seen on search results screens thousands of times per month. This increases libraries' visibility exponentially, making potential users aware of all their libraries have to offer.
Google says it evaluates certification applications "based on a variety of factors to maintain a high standard for the [Google Ad Grants Certified Professionals] community." Applicants must demonstrate their "commitment to the nonprofit community." Google also judges applicants according to their ability to "meet and maintain quality and performance thresholds; demonstrate strong overall account management in Ad Grants fundamentals, including best-in-class account structure, high quality, and a performance-based approach with an emphasis on conversion tracking."
Koios has been running its digital marketing service, formerly known as Libre and recently rebranded as Koios Ads, for several years as a Google Partner. Its upgraded designation as a Google Ad Grants Certified Professional recognizes Koios' success with at least 10 clients, along with its expertise. This level of status also gives Koios staff more access to continuing education and deeper interactions with the Ad Grants team, allowing Koios to support its clients even better than before.
"Only about 30 of the best Ad Grants managers in the world have been recognized as Certified Professionals," said Trey Gordner, founder of Koios. "And none have our focus on libraries and community organizations. We are very proud to be part of this elite group."
To demonstrate its commitment to nonprofits, Koios freely offers its expertise to explain the Google Ad Grants program to librarians and to guide them through the application process. Once a library secures an Ad Grant, Koios offers a 30-day free trial of its Koios Ads service, which includes setting up ad campaigns in accordance with a library's goals, keeping the account in compliance with shifting grant requirements, and studying local Google search patterns as well as ad click-throughs and conversions to optimize campaigns over time. Libraries are under no obligation to hire Koios to manage their grants; the $10,000/month in credit is theirs to use regardless. But when a library doesn't have the staff time or search-engine marketing experience to use the grant money effectively, they may opt to contract for the Koios Ads service.
