Duluth, Ga., October 24, 2018: Equinox is pleased to announce the successful migration of the Lower Macungie Library to Evergreen within the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System (PaILS) SPARK Consortium.
This move includes a total of 17,823 patron records and 67,407 bibliographic records. Equinox provided project management and configuration for the migration in addition to data extraction and conversion. Bibliographic record deduplication was completed by Equinox staff including patron and transaction records. Onsite and remote training was included as part of the migration process by Equinox.
"Our Equinox and PaILS migration team were wonderful to work with. They are extremely knowledgeable, responsive and they helped make the migration process a smooth one," said Natalie Arnold, assistant director for Lower Macungie Library. "We are very excited to join the SPARK community and look forward to the enhanced services that we'll be able to provide our patrons."
PaILS was founded in June 2011 as a non-profit organization to provide an open source integrated library system. It oversees SPARK, a consortia of Evergreen libraries across Pennsylvania. Equinox and PaILS have been collaborating on the SPARK consortia since 2013.
"The Lower Macungie librarians were amazing to work with during their migration. They didn't hesitate to dive into the SPARK database and became skillful at navigating the system," said Erica Rohlfs, project manager for Equinox. "From the start with Whitehall to the end with Lower Macungie, it has been exciting to watch the Lehigh Carbon Cooperative come together on SPARK. It will be even more exciting to watch them grow as a resource sharing cooperative in the new year."
