Yewno facilitates collaborative research new DoYewno? competition announced

May 16th, 2018 - Redwood City, CA Yewno, Inc., a leading provider of AI solutions, today announces a new competition in which high school students must collaborate together to produce outstanding research. This new installment of the DoYewno? High School Research Competition is open to students age 19 and under until materials become due at midnight PST on June 15th, 2018. All submissions must be collaborative between a group of two or more students.

Collaboration is one of the key benefits of Yewno Create which helps students to apply their learning to written research and powers the DoYewno? competition. All entrants will be given complementary access to Create, which serves as a platform for constructing and submitting articles. Students will perform extensive research with access to Yewno's database of over 200 million scholarly articles including billions of snippets which will help them find interrelated concepts.

Co-authors can collaborate, share notes and drafts, access saved concepts within each other's research, and use a chat platform to discuss their articles pre-submission. This means that students can collaborate with a peer at their school, or one across the world. Once ready to start work on their article, students are prompted with simple directions on how to structure their work, including how to write an abstract, introduction and background, and present their methodology, data and conclusions. They can even access examples of others' work to verify that they are on the right track. When their joint article is complete, authors can submit their work for publication in one of 20 peer-reviewed journals hosted by Stanford's Designership Institute.

"Yewno Create delivers a platform for meaningful learning. Not only have my students made groundbreaking discoveries, they are also able to share what they've learned with peers around the world. Yewno Create helps them to structure their findings in a way that others can understand. It fosters an environment of excitement and collaboration," says Freedom Cheteni, a math teacher at Design Technology High School in Redwood City, CA.

Ruth Pickering, Yewno Co-Founder and Chief BD and Strategy Officer explains, "Yewno Discover, our research platform, fosters exploratory research and helps secondary students to spark creativity, discovery and passion about their research. We built Yewno Create to give high school students the opportunity to be published in peer review articles. In addition to giving more meaning to their work it prepares them either for higher education or a career where undoubtedly they'll need to be able to structure research clearly. Introducing collaboration is really exciting and we look forward to seeing the results of the competition."
