The Library of Trinity College Dublin selects Talis Aspire to improve student experience with Blackboard integration

Following a formal tendering process, the Library of Trinity College Dublin has selected Talis Aspire to manage and deliver its online reading lists service with integrated copyright management.

The Library of Trinity College Dublin aims to improve student experience with improved access to resources. They plan to integrate reading lists with their Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Blackboard through the Talis Aspire Learning Tools Interoperability(LTI) tool. They will streamline library workflows through management of copyright and acquisitions.

Talis Aspire will also be integrated with Trinity College Dublin's Library Management System Innovative Sierra and their Discovery Tool, Encore. This will provide a seamless way to add resources to reading lists, and provide direct links to these resources for their students, including real-time library holding information and single sign-on access where relevant.

The Talis Services team and the Library of Trinity College Dublin project team will commence collaboration on the implementation in the coming weeks, with an aim to pilot with a group of their reading list ‘champions' this academic year, will a full rollout planned for the 2018/19 academic year.

Trinity College Dublin is ranked Ireland's No.1 University and sits within the top 100 universities worldwide according to the QS World University Ranking 2016. There are 17,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students across all the major disciplines in the arts and humanities, and in business, law, engineering, science, and health sciences.

Talis help universities in eight countries, including over 65% of all UK universities, to manage and deliver learning resources online. Talis services integrate with all major ILS and LMS solutions together with a range of authentication services, Reproduction Rights Organisations (RRO), bookstores and content providers. The cloud-based SaaS system hosts nearly 500,000 reading lists, with over 20 million references, serving in excess of 176 million views of reading lists by students each year.
