Tech Logic Unveils Enhanced Interface for Self-checkout at ALA Chicago

OAKDALE, MN (June 23, 2017) - Tech Logic, inventors of Automated Materials Handling for libraries, and a leading provider of both RFID and barcode-based self-checkout, announced today the release of a new, enhanced CircIT FLEX self-checkout user interface design. The new CircIT FLEX interface is available to all new and existing customer libraries on their hardware choice of standalone touchscreen kiosk, desktop kiosk, patented staff-monitored "Combo" station, and even as software for library-supplied hardware.

Tech Logic will be unveiling the new user interface at their booth #4234, during ALA Annual 2017, in Chicago, June 23-27.

The FLEX incorporates dual screen viewing (to display web-based promotional, social media, or other library applications) and remote view and monitoring of self-checkout station status. FLEX gives you the ability to employ its expanded user interface 'real estate' to embed tools like surveys and events calendars; or to promote library programs dynamically - beyond traditional signage. Customers now have an easy-to-understand information oasis that allows them speed, privacy, and enables a positive library experience.

FLEX options include:

  • Payment via EMV/Chip & PIN
  • Integrated Cash & Coin payment
  • RFID, Barcode & EM security-ready configurations

President of Tech Logic, Gary Kirk says, "Twenty years ago, when Tech Logic opened for business, self-checkout systems were mostly an afterthought to libraries. Today, they are an integral part of customer service and a mission-critical technology. Likewise, the user experience has evolved dramatically and the CircIT FLEX sets the bar for an exceptional customer experience and patron enrichment. I am thrilled to celebrate our 20th anniversary by providing this enhanced service to the library community."
