The Massachusetts Library Network Cooperative (MassLNC) is pleased to welcome two Minnesota libraries to its initiative to fund development in the Evergreen open-source Integrated Library System.
The Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) and Northwest Regional Library (NWRL) consortium in Minnesota is joining the MassLNC Evergreen Development Initiative. The project is an opportunity for libraries and consortia running Evergreen to maximize their resources by pooling funds to sponsor exciting new features and important improvements for the open-source system. The Minnesota libraries are joining seven other Evergreen library organizations in this collaborative project.
During the Initiative's first year, MassLNC partners decided to fund development projects that improve the way users place holds in the system, allow staff to search report templates by keyword, and provide support for alternate/preferred patron names.
As the partnership enters its second year of work, the group is planning to support development to further improve search in the catalog and to continue work on Evergreen's new web staff client.
The addition of new partners ensures that more libraries will have a voice in upcoming new features while allowing MassLNC to fund more and bigger projects.. More information about the Initiative is available at http://masslnc.org/eg-dev.
