April 26, 2017 -- Emeryville, CA. Innovative Interfaces, a leading provider of library automation software that empowers libraries globally, has launched Mobile Worklists Release 2.4 to give library staff increased flexibility and control when managing workflows from a mobile device.
Building on the list management capabilities in Mobile Worklists, a native mobile app, the new release adds the ability to star items in a list, so users can categorize item entries based on their library's unique workflow needs.
For Portland Public Library in Portland, Maine, the new feature has improved workflows for shelving and weeding. "We have found the star feature to be helpful when working with a list of items that needs a second review or step," said Kathleen Spahn, Access Services Director at Portland Public Library. "This saves time for our team members and makes it easier to manage large lists. Staff can quickly select all starred (or unstarred) items, then do a bulk move or delete. It's very efficient."
Mobile Worklists Release 2.4 also includes a new toolbar on the item detail screen that has action icons to move, delete, or star an item, so users do not have to go back to the main list to perform these functions.
"The development of Mobile Worklists has been focused on simplifying processes at the library and making workflows easier for staff," said Leif Pedersen, Executive Vice President, Product at Innovative. "The feedback we've received is that Mobile Worklists is a powerful yet simple tool to streamline processes and workflows in the library. With each new release, it becomes a more important application for collection management."
Mobile Worklists customers can download the new version of the mobile app from the Apple App Store immediately. Devices configured for automatic downloads (most common) will receive the update automatically. A native iOS application, Mobile Worklists is currently available for library partners using Sierra.
