DULUTH, Ga., March 20, 2017 -- Equinox is pleased to announce that Bladen County Public Library System successfully migrated to Evergreen within the NC Cardinal Consortium on March 17th 2017.
Bladen County serves Elizabethtown and the surrounding area's over 11,000 patrons and their holdings include 53,000 bibliographic records. For the migration, Equinox performed the bibliographic data extraction and deduplication, policy configuration, project management and training services. As part of the NC Cardinal consortium, Bladen is hosted and supported by Equinox on their industry leading Sequoia platform.
Kelsey B. Edwards, the Library Director of Bladen County stated, "All the staff at Equinox that have been working with us, as well as our NC Cardinal Support Specialist, have already been extremely helpful during the process leading up to migration, and we appreciate all the support we will continue to receive after migration. The Bladen County Public Library will see many benefits from our migration to Evergreen within the NC Cardinal Consortium. Our patrons will have access to at least four million more library materials, which is a great benefit due to our library's small book and audiovisual budget. Also, we will enjoy a great cost savings over our previous ILS, and we are hoping to use that cost savings to provide improved resources and services for the citizens of Bladen County."
Equinox's Project Manager, Barbara Cormack added, "I have greatly enjoyed working with the staff at Bladen County Public Library on their migration to Evergreen. Our collaboration with NC Cardinal staff has brought a strong combination of skills and experience to the project, and has paid off with a very successful transition for the library."
