July 15, 2016, LEHI, UT—Local Utah library Highland City Library selects SirsiDynix Symphony for new ILS. In their migration away from Innovative Interfaces' Polaris, Highland City Library chose to supplement their Symphony ILS with sophisticated SirsiDynix solutions, including Enterprise, MobileCirc, BLUEcloud Analytics, and SaaS.
Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Highland City Library (HCL) serves a population of just over 17,000. The library, formerly operating out of a junior high school, served both Highland and the city of Alpine. In 2008, HCL relocated to Highland City Hall, where the team has refocused their efforts to serve the community and further their mission to provide "all residents with access to information that educates, inspires, and entertains." Citing their mission, Highland City Library Director Janae Wahnschaffe stated "The SD product holds additional potential for our growing library. We have been so impressed with the capabilities of the software, but even more important to us, the superior customer service and observation to detail SD has extended. We are thrilled with our new software and know we will receive anything we need in moving forward from our new friends at SD. The quality of care is unmatched." SirsiDynix automated solutions will support the management work of HCL, while the data hosting will provide a dependable backing that can grow with the library. Highland City Library is scheduled to go live at the end of August.
Speaking on the recent adoption, CEO Bill Davison confirmed SirsiDynix's excitement for the Highland City Library adoption. "It is a particular honor to be able to serve the local libraries of our region. Highland City Library is just down the road from our offices. Many of our employees reside there and
