Chicago, ILóMarch 31, 2016. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Colorado State University (CSU) has selected the Ex Libris Alma resource management solution and the Primo discovery and delivery solution, also from Ex Libris. A member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), CSU will be migrating from Innovative Interfaces Millennium and the VuFind library resource portal.
With electronic resources making up a significant portion of its library collections, Colorado State University was in search of a modern system designed to manage more than just print materials. Flexibility, interoperability, and workflow efficiency were major factors in the decision-making process. CSU also required an extremely intuitive, web-scale discovery interface that would facilitate research by faculty members and students.
The Alma Primo combination will serve to efficiently manage CSU's current collections and the complex operations of the library. Enabling libraries to deliver electronic content in a modern, up-to-date manner, these Ex Libris solutions will make it easier for staff to meet the high demand for library services.
Pat Burns, vice president for information technology and the dean of libraries, commented: "We are very excited to be adopting new technologies from Ex Libris for the discovery and management of our resources. These solutions will stand us in good stead for the coming decade."
Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America, remarked: "It is great to see Colorado State University joining the Colorado School of Mines and University of Denver as part of our rapidly growing Alma community in Colorado. CSU also brings the number of ARL institutions implementing Alma to 25. We're honored to have this prestigious university adopting Alma and Primo and look forward to expanding our relationship with CSU."
