The North Rhine-Westphalian Library Service Center (hbz, Cologne) and the Common Library Network, (GBV, Goettingen) are pleased to announce that they have joined the Kuali Open Library Environment (OLE) community and the Kuali Foundation as development partners. The hbz and GVB are two German library services network providers that collectively provide services to over 300 academic and research libraries.
After an evaluation of Kuali OLE during 2014/15, both networks are planning to pilot and adopt the software for two university libraries. The 3-year pilot implementation will demonstrate the usability of Kuali OLE in German academic libraries and how it integrates into the German library network infrastructure. GBV and hbz will continue the work started by SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) Library at the University of London to internationalize OLE.
Michael Winkler, Managing Director for Kuali OLE, welcomed the hbz and GBV to the OLE Partnership noting that, "We are excited that these new partners have confidence in the growing capability of OLE to meet complex, multi-institution needs, while extending the applicability of OLE in the global market."
