Press Release: The Library Corporation [October 2, 2015]

Loudoun County Public Library selects CARL as their next ILS

DENVER (October 1, 2015) - The Library Corporation (TLC) has announced that Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) in Virginia has selected CARL.X to meet their ILS needs, and will take advantage of CARL's Software as a Service (SaaS) solution.

TLC and LCPL will partner to best showcase the LCPL collection to its over 200,000 patrons and provide the flexible, customizable and open CARL system to its staff. Additionally, LCPL will have access to the top notch patron driven services that are also in use by some of the industry's largest and resourceful library systems.

Loudoun County is located 25 miles west of Washington, DC, in the Washington Metropolitan Area and has been the fifth fastest growing county in the United States. Known for its high quality public services, the selection of CARL was a natural choice for LCPL's 8 branches that circulate close to 6 million items annually.

In need of a more personalized experience for their development and service level strategies, LCPL was drawn to CARL's partnership philosophy that ensures libraries are able to achieve continued growth and long term success by collaborating on development projects together, as opposed to having to adapt to an out of the box solution. "We are looking forward to the new possibilities for our patrons through CARL. TLC's focus on the customer matches our philosophy at Loudoun County Public Library, and we are eager to provide a modern user experience that helps Loudoun residents use library resources to the fullest," said Library Director Chang Liu.

Similarly, TLC is pleased to have LCPL as a part of the CARL user community and looks forward to a long and successful relationship. "TLC is proud of our history of collaboration and partnership with our Libraries," said Paul Leppert, Managing Director of TLC's Denver office. "Loudoun County Public Library has demonstrated success as a forward-thinking system and we are very happy they chose TLC and the CARL ILS as the foundation for their future."
