Melbourne – 28 August 2015. Civica Library Solutions, a leader in specialist systems and business process services that help organisations to transform the way they work, continues to grow its customer base with Penrith City Libraries becoming the latest library service to choose Civica and Spydus10.
Penrith City Libraries, located in Greater Western Sydney, will move from their existing in-house system to Spydus10, Civica's latest web-based system comprising library management, personalised patron discovery, digital asset management and archival functionality.
"We are confident that Spydus10 will deliver an exceptional online experience for Penrith City customers, and increased functionality and streamlined workflows for staff," said Marc Nolan, Managing Director of Library Solutions. "We believe that our integrated solution is among the best in the market, offering a complete community solution for libraries, and this has been reinforced by the number of new libraries choosing Civica and Spydus10 as their preferred system."
Penrith's Library Manager, Colin Stevenson, said that Penrith City Library staff were looking forward to replacing its existing in-house developed Library Management System (AXCIS 2) which had served them well since 1993, providing the first fully integrated library self-checkout facility that enabled library staff at Penrith to move into the three times larger library in the Civic Centre at the end of 1994, with no increase in staff numbers. He said: "It is now time to incorporate a greater range of contemporary services including better integration with mobile technology, greater utilisation of online digital resources, social media integration, enrichment of online public access catalogue interface and functionalities, image/object database management, and an equipment and events booking system".
Penrith City Libraries are looking to go live with Spydus10 towards the end of this year.
