Emeryville, CA. Innovative announced today that Middlesex County Library (MCL) in Ontario, Canada has selected the Sierra Library Services Platform and will migrate from a Symphony system provided by SirsiDynix. MCL has just over 200,000 items in its collection and covers a geographic area of over 1,000 square miles.
"We are looking forward to working with a library services platform that is the best solution on the market to suit the needs of both patrons and library staff," says Sandi Burgess, CEO/County Librarian. "As a result of our rural environment, we are particularly looking forward to offering online fines payment, online program registration, eBook downloads and searching through the Encore Discovery Solution."
"Innovative products are ideal for serving patrons on-the-go and those outside library walls," says Bill Schickling, SVP of Global Sales. "MCL can create optimal user experiences through browsers and mobile devices, which are critical for libraries serving large geographic areas. In addition, Sierra delivers modern workflows that let staff work more efficiently, as well as open architecture that allows them to integrate new user services as time goes on."
Symphony is a trademark of SirsiDynix.
