Midwest City, Oklahoma – May 1, 2015 – Biblionix, the major 2015 award winner for automation systems, today announced the "OLA Conference (Oklahoma Library Association) Apollo Automation" feature selection event. This exciting new event took place within this week of the OLA Conference. It allowed Oklahoma customers of Apollo to submit their most desired new features so that one could be selected and added to Apollo, all within the week of the conference.
On Monday morning, April 27, Biblionix contacted all Oklahoma customers of its Apollo Automation system, asking for their most desired features. The winning feature was soon selected and Biblionix Development put the pedal to the metal to implement it. The feature was announced and demonstrated today at the Oklahoma Library Association Conference in Midwest City.
The new feature shows cover images of items checked out. Staff can quickly show patrons the image(s) in order to jog their memories of what they have checked out. It is available immediately for all customers with the Content Cafe2 catalog enhancement option.
"We're delighted that this feature was selected," said Mandi Schoenhals, Assistant Director of the Alva Public Library. "For patrons who thought they had returned everything, we can very easily show them what the covers look like for remaining items."
Features can be added to Apollo quickly since Apollo is hosted only and uses a multi-tenant environment. There is a single version of the Apollo software and all customers are running it, so test and deployment times are greatly reduced over that of virtually all competing systems.
A plurality of public libraries in Oklahoma use Apollo (per Library Technology Guides).
