Hoseo University Library in Cheonan, South Korea has selected EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) to provide students and faculty with upgraded access to its library collection.
The library, which had been using Primo Central, decided to switch to EDS to obtain state-of-the-art relevancy ranking results.
"We have evaluated three different discovery solutions during the last few months and finally confirmed that EDS is the best solution to satisfy research needs and integrate overall electronic resources such as e-journals, full-text databases and subject indexes. In the evaluation, EDS showed more content coverage with subject indexes like the ATLA Religion Database, and better currency on our highly used e-journals than any other discovery solutions" said Ms. Gwahk, Yun-Jeong, serials librarian at Hoseo University Library.
The library was also very impressed with the integrated functionality of the EDS API. The library will initially launch the service with the EDS platform and plans to use the EDS API to integrate with Hoseo's ILS vendor by the middle of 2016.
EDS creates a unified, customized index of an institution's information resources, and provides an easy, yet powerful means of accessing all of that content from a single search box – searching made even more powerful through the quality of its relevance and value ranking technology.
