DUBLIN, Ohio, March 25, 2015. OCLC and LexisNexis are working together to make the LexisNexis Academic database available to mutual subscribers through OCLC WorldCat Discovery Services.

LexisNexis Academic features a collection over 15,000 news, legal, and business sources. The news collection offers deep and reliable coverage of world events from the most trusted newspapers, broadcasters, and social media outlets. It provides local perspectives and insight from across the globe with publications from over 150 countries and in over 21 languages. In addition, LexisNexis Academic offers extensive coverage of legal information on federal and state cases and statutes and has unparalleled business information on over 80 million U.S. and international companies and more than 63 million executives. It is used by more than 2,000 U.S. universities worldwide.

"OCLC is a trusted partner to librarians worldwide and we couldn't be more pleased to be working with them to launch our discovery service integration," said Tom Ogburn, Managing Director, LexisNexis Business Insight Solutions. "With OCLC's exceptional search technology and LexisNexis's unmatched content collection, we are excited about what this alliance offers for better serving librarians and researchers."

"LexisNexis Academic is one of the premier research collections in the world," said Chip Nilges, OCLC Vice President, Business Development. "It is also one of the most popular resources in libraries. We are delighted to be working with LexisNexis to be able to offer libraries and library users access to this valuable resource through WorldCat Discovery Services."

WorldCat Discovery Services is an integrated suite of cloud based applications that enables people to discover more than 1.8 billion electronic, digital and physical resources in libraries around the world and makes library collections visible to information seekers in the places where they start their search.
