London -- 20th March, 2015. The University of the Arts London has chosen the Koha open source library management system to replace its existing system. PTFS Europe will implement Koha and provide on-going hosting and support. The project also includes a wide range of integration services including online payments, identity management, authentication, RFID and integration with Explorit federated search. A key service being provided is the further enhancement of the public interface to precisely meet the needs of UAL's library users.
Koha Library Management System
Koha is a completely web-based application for both staff and public access. The system comprises core modules: acquisitions with EDI, circulation, cataloguing, serials and comprehensive reporting functionality. Koha integrates easily with other applications such as discovery, finance, student management and online payment systems. The Koha online catalogue offers end users excellent search capabilities together with a full range of personalisation services.
University of the Arts London
Operating at the heart of the world's creative capital, University of the Arts London (UAL) is a vibrant international centre for innovative teaching and research in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts. The University's unique creative community is made up of six distinctive and distinguished Colleges: Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, London College of Communication, London College of Fashion and Wimbledon College of Arts.
