15 January 2015: Civica, a leader in specialist library solutions, and James Bennett, the leader in library supply, announced that the first customer using their API integration is now live. This API integration between Axis 360 and the Spydus library management system enables patrons full access to digital content within the Spydus OPAC, bringing a simplified and improved user experience.
Library users can access Axis 360 content, check availability, loan, and reserve titles without leaving the Spydus OPAC. For library staff, the integration enables usage statistics via standard Spydus reports.
Stonnington Library and Information Service in Melbourne, Australia, were the first library to go live with this service. We're excited that we're able to bring our Axis360 eBook collection to borrowers in a familiar place" said Natasha Tsui-Po, Senior Team Leader Systems and Resources.
"Achieving the integration of Axis 360 and Civica will improve the library experience for our customers and their patrons" said Sarah Cavanagh, James Bennett's Sales Manager. "James Bennett and Civica both strongly support ReadersFirst principles, and through our partnership, we are making sure the technologies libraries rely on run seamlessly."
Marc Nolan, Civica Library Solutions Managing Director said "We were very pleased to collaborate with James Bennett to bring an improved service to our customers. API integration with Axis 360 is important because many of our Spydus customers subscribe to this service and we are continually looking at ways to streamline processes."
