LEHI, Utah -- Nov. 10, 2014. The Organization of Watauga Libraries (OWL), a 10-member consortium in northeast Tennessee, has signed a seven-year agreement with SirsiDynix. In addition to choosing SirsiDynix Symphony and SirsiDynix SaaS hosting service, OWL has chosen a number of SirsiDynix BLUEcloud products, including Enterprise discovery tool, eResource Central (eRC) digital content management system, MobileCirc mobile application, and more.
"We're thrilled to partner with the newly formed OWL consortium and we welcome them to the SirsiDynix family," said Bill Davison, SirsiDynix CEO. "We know OWL had a number of solutions to choose from, and we are gratified that they selected our Symphony platform, including mobile circulation, eResource management, and robust reporting to help them manage their operations. OWL's decision to use SirsiDynix Symphony gives them access to many of the exciting, new BLUEcloud features currently available, as well as others coming over the next few months, for no additional cost."
OWL adds 15 locations and almost 1.8 million titles in circulation to Symphony's growing community of libraries.
"We are very excited to begin a new era of library service with the formation of our new consortium and subsequent new partnership with SirsiDynix," said representatives from OWL. "We are very appreciative of our previous partnership arrangement and are proud of our ground-breaking service history, yet we feel the best is still to come. Like much in modern society, library services are changing, though amid continued record high usage. SirsiDynix is the key partner of our new consortium that will allow our libraries to take the next evolutionary leap in providing excellent library service."
