INWOOD, W.Va. (Oct. 16, 2014) Ė England's prestigious Ealing, Hammersmith, and West London College has implemented The Library Corporation's Library.Solution integrated library system, bolstering TLC's presence in the United Kingdom.
Howie Watkin, TLC's director of sales for Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, said Ealing, Hammersmith, and West London College needed a Web-based, easy-to-use automation system that could handle daily circulation volume for over 20,000 students on four campuses. Manageable first-year costs and annual maintenance expenses were also important considerations, Watkin said, so TLC's automation system was a perfect fit.
The college migrated from a SirsiDynix ILS to TLC's Library.Solution and a suite of LS2 enhancements including LS2 PAC, Staff, and Reports. The feature-rich automation system resides on a TLC-hosted server and administers more than 74,000 items in the college's four library locations in London's Acton, Ealing, Hammersmith and Southall districts.
Ealing, Hammersmith, and West London College was established in 1881 and provides entry-level training, educational development, and postgraduate courses to teen and adult students. It is a member of the 157 Group, a consortium of 29 of the UK's largest further education colleges, and has earned distinctions including the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade, Beacon Status, and the Frank Buttle Trust Quality Mark. The school is the first college in London to receive the Charter for International Excellence from the Association of Colleges.
Library.Solution's features and functionality are designed for libraries of any size, from single-site installations to multi-location consortia. Available for on-site implementation or as a hosted solution, Library.Solution is the preferred automation system for more than 4,500 libraries worldwide.
