October 1, 2014 -- Emeryville, CA. The Santa Clara County Library District, with administrative offices in Campbell, CA, has selected the Sierra Library Services Platform. A large system providing access to 1.8 million items to its communities, SCCLD is migrating from a Horizon system provided by SirsiDynix.
"Larger library systems such as SCCLD are selecting Sierra for the flexibility it provides to serve a wide constituency of users," says Chris Le Blanc, SVP of Global Sales. "Public libraries also choose Sierra because of its open architecture, which creates new opportunities for integrating content such as eBooks and delivering service through new devices such as smartphones and tablets. With new opportunities for service at public libraries arising all the time, Sierra can support their needs as the technology landscape broadens even more in the coming years."
