12th September 2014: Civica, a leader in specialist systems and business process services that help organisations to transform the way they work, is pleased to announce the partnership with Recorded Books to streamline the delivery process for Zinio magazines, the world's largest digital newsstand which offers full magazines with color pictures, intuitive navigation, and interactive audio and video.
Civica's simplified search and checkout process for Zinio magazines in Spydus 9 means that library borrowers can search for the very latest available editions of popular magazines and borrow them within the Spydus OPAC. Loans statistics for Zinio magazines are captured within Spydus and borrowers can track both their digital and physical loans in a single library account.
"We are pleased to be one of the first ILMS providers worldwide to offer this service," said Marc Nolan Civica Library Solutions Managing Director. "The Zinio offering provided to libraries by Recorded Books is wildly popular, and our work in integrating Zinio with Spydus makes the discovery and check out process simple and smart."
"We are delighted to partner Civica to streamline the delivery process for Zinio magazines in libraries. The increased speed and ease of access brought about by this integration is exactly the type of projects we strive to engage in." said Mike Pyland, Chief Technology Officer, Recorded Books Inc..
"Working alongside Civica on this integration provides end users in Australian libraries with even more benefits. Not only is it easier to navigate, but all formats are also in one place; providing capability for borrowers to track digital and physical loans in a simple, easy-to-use manner." commented Herbert Hillary, General Manager, Wavesound Pty Ltd.
Spydus customers wishing to know more about this integration should contact their Civica Account Manager for more information. Civica and Wavesound will be exhibiting at the ALIA National Conference in Melbourne 15-19 September.
