OCLC has a new agreement in place which will make enriched metadata from Nielsen Book available to libraries using OCLC's WorldShare discovery and library management applications, including those using WorldShare Management Services.

Nielsen Book works closely with publishers to collect enhanced metadata which is licensed to retailers, Internet sites, libraries and specialist services in over 100 countries worldwide. The Nielsen Book database holds more than 24 million title records and the new agreement will make a subset of Nielsen Book's comprehensive data, including cover art, tables of contents, reviews, links to author resources and descriptions available to OCLC libraries.

Nielsen provides 14.6 million records to OCLC – representing mostly English language content published in the UK, with some representing published content from Australia and New Zealand and other EMEA regions.

Nielsen Book metadata available through OCLC services represents a subset of the total data available from Nielsen Book; more data is accessible to libraries directly by request.
