May 8, 2014 -- Emeryville, CA. WISPALS Library Consortium, a group of academic libraries in Wisconsin serving over 50,000 students, has selected the Sierra Library Services Platform. The membership includes 11 colleges representing 29 libraries and provides over half a million items to their campuses. The members are Chippewa Valley Technical College, Fox Valley Technical College, Gateway Technical College, Lakeshore Technical College, Mid-State Technical College, Moraine Park Technical College, North Central Technical College, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Waukesha County Technical College, Western Technical College, and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.
"Sierra is being adopted by more and more public consortia, such as Library Connection, Inc. late last year, and it is gratifying to see a large academic one do the same," says Christopher Le Blanc, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Innovative. "This platform is successful for consortia because it allows them to pool their resources, while also providing the freedom for each member to have its desired workflow and patron services. We look forward to how WISPALS will capitalize on Sierra's open platform as they chart their member libraries' technology future."
