On Feb. 10, PALS staff upgraded the East Central Regional Library (ECRL) Evergreen installation from version 2.0 to 2.3.

Prior to the upgrade, Carrie Curie and Dan Honetschlager, Support and Training Specialists with PALS, trained ECRL staff at their Headquarters in Cambridge, Minnesota. Alexey Lazar, the lead Evergreen Information Systems Developer and Integrator on the PALS staff, performed the upgrade for ECRL. They went live on Evergreen 2.3 on Monday, Feb. 11.

With the upgrade to Evergreen 2.3, ECRL staff and patrons benefit from new features and performance enhancements. ECRL staff will benefit from the new cataloging interface for managing the creation, deletion and editing of records. They are also looking forward to implementing the Kids OPAC (KPAC), a public catalog search designed for children and teens.

East Central Regional Library is a six-county, 14 branch public library system located in East Central Minnesota.

Evergreen is an Integrated Library System (ILS) that helps library patrons find library materials, and helps libraries manage, catalog, and circulate those materials, no matter how large or complex the libraries. Evergreen is open source software, freely licensed under the GNU GPL.
