MOBIUS, a nonprofit library organization, is pleased to announce we have signed a contract with the Missouri State Library to host and manage an Evergreen Integrated Library System for the public libraries of Missouri. The Missouri State Library will fund migration costs and MOBIUS staffing for the Missouri Evergreen Consortium for the next five years. MOBIUS will assist each library with all aspects of implementation and migration to the Evergreen system and provide ongoing support.
Patrons of Missouri Evergreen libraries will be able to place holds on items held by other participating libraries and receive items for pickup at their local library via the courier service. Thirteen public libraries have chosen to start the new consortium. They are:
- Albany Carnegie Public Library
- Carrollton Public Library
- Carthage Public Library
- Doniphan-Ripley County Library
- Grundy County Library
- Howard County Library
- Lebanon-Laclede County Library
- Little Dixie Regional Libraries
- Marshall Public Library
- Neosho-Newton County Library
- Poplar Bluff Public Library
- Stone County Library
- Webster County Library
Grundy County Library will be the first library to go live with Evergreen in May, 2012. Marshall Public Library, Poplar Bluff Public Library, and Carrollton Public Library are scheduled to go live with Missouri Evergreen by August 31, 2012.
About MOBIUS
MOBIUS manages a Union Catalog running on the InnReach system from Innovative Interfaces which includes access to over 23 million items from 59 academic libraries, 4 public libraries, one special library and the Missouri State Library. The Evergreen libraries will not be participating in the MOBIUS Union Catalog at this time. It is our hope that eventually the two systems will connect allowing easy access to all of the rich collections available in Missouri libraries.
