Relais International is pleased to announce that the University of Wollongong (New South Wales, Australia) has selected the Relais ILL Hosted Service.
The service will be hosted by CAVAL Ltd in Australia. It will include the Relais Access web-based pages that allow library users to create and monitor their own ILL requests. Staff can use a new and enhanced web-based staff interface and the Relais windows staff client to process ILL requests. The system includes the fully integrated Relais Scanning Module for seamless electronic delivery of items to patrons and to other libraries. The implementation is planned for October 2011. The Library uses the Millennium Library Management System.
Margie Jantti, University Librarian, says "The value of resource-sharing between libraries is increasingly evident, both locally and globally. By working with Relais, we aim to enhance our effectiveness in resource sharing initiatives; further supporting the highly diverse information and research needs of our clients."
Clare MacKeigan, COO of Relais International, says "We are very excited to be working with the staff from the University of Wollongong Library. We look forward to a strong and lasting working relationship."
Established in 1975, the University of Wollongong Library started as a small, regional, one campus entity, providing access to fewer than 100,000 books and 1,000 journal titles. Today the Library has expanded its range of resources and services to match the growth of the University. Located throughout NSW and the world, University of Wollongong libraries and access centres support over 20,000 students and staff. The Library provides access to half a million books, 70,000 journal titles, 300 databases (online collections of journal articles) and 60,000 e-books.
