With effect from Monday, January 20th, 2003 a new version of PiCarta is available.

This new version contains both new functions and improvements in the existing functionality. Also a newly designed welcome screen and search screens on the Open Library Network, OBN-menu, and Publiekwijzer will become available at the same time.

Below, the most important changes are listed:

• The new interface is more comfortable on the eyes due to different colours, a smaller font and fewer icons
• An expert function offers the advanced and/or specialist user more facilities when searching with combined search terms
• On various screens, such as the help function, the text was updated in order to offer users better and clearer information.
• The functionality is better and more logically ordered
• At all times it is possible to see which user is logged in
• Under the button "Available" the address of the owning institution is also now shown

After January 20th, the new versions of PiCarta, OBN-menu and Publiekwijzer will continue to be accessible via the existing addresses: www.picarta.nl of www.oclcpica.org.
