Blacksburg, VA -- VTLS Inc. proudly announces its newest ILS customer, Delaware County Community College (DCCC). Located in Media, Pennsylvania, DCCC has been serving the educational needs of Delaware and Chester counties since 1967.
Delaware County Community College has selected the Virtua ILS SaaS option to replace its current Sirsi-Dynix Horizon system. The SaaS model allows DCCC to focus more on satisfying the learning needs of their students as opposed to spending time maintaining the IT infrastructure. DCCC was particularly impressed with the feature rich software provided by Virtua as well as the social networking capabilities of Chamo, the web OPAC.
"As we all know, community colleges throughout the United States provide a valuable service to the students within their communities particularly given the economic challenges that have existed. We are very pleased to be able to support Delaware County Community College by providing them with software and services that will allow them to not only meet the needs of their current students and faculty but also for their emerging needs" remarks Cecilia M. Yourshaw, VP of Operations for VTLS Inc.
Delaware County Community College has purchased a 30 UL, hosted Virtua system including: OPAC, Cataloging, Circulation, Acquisitions, Serials, InfoStation and Ad Hoc Reporting. DCCC continues to add to the rapidly growing base of customers hosted at VTLS Inc. The new system will be live by the end of this calendar year.
"We are looking forward to working with VTLS on this project. Several of us have worked with the Virtua system previously, and we've been impressed with both the stability of the system and how fast upgrades are developed. VTLS' focus on developing cutting-edge technology at the global level aligns with DCCC's emphasis on technology. We believe that the Virtua system will enhance our ability to deliver support services to our students and faculty," says Karen Rege, Director of Library Services, Delaware County Community College.
