Sno-Isle Libraries Selects the Polaris ILS

Syracuse, NY, November 4, 2010 - Polaris Library Systems, a leading provider of library automation technology, announced today that Sno-Isle Libraries selected the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS). Sno-Isle Libraries provides services to twenty-one communities in Washington State.

"The staff at Sno-Isle Libraries are very excited to move to a library automation system which will enable us to provide excellent service to our customers," said Jeanne Crisp, Director of ILS Implementation. "The multilingual mobile PAC, text messaging, personal lists, reading history, connections to social media and a robust reporting system are just a few of the features we know will be welcomed by the public and our staff. We also expect to achieve more efficient workflows with respect to collection development, electronic ordering and electronic invoicing and processing. We're looking forward to working with Polaris's staff during the implementation process."

The Polaris ILS will replace the library's TLC CARL system. Prior to selecting the Polaris ILS, Sno-Isle Libraries went through an extensive review process that included both proprietary and open source ILS solutions.

"We are proud the Sno-Isle Libraries selected Polaris as their automation partner," said Polaris President & CEO Bill Schickling. "Sno-Isle has excellent leadership, managerial and IT staff with the expertise to take full advantage of Polaris's open database schema and API. We look forward to partnering with them to help evolve library services within their region."
