Swets Announces the Integration of eBooks in SwetsWise

Lisse, The Netherlands -- April 7, 2010. Swets is pleased to announce its eBook procurement portal has been fully integrated into SwetsWise and is now available to all customers. eBooks in SwetsWise solves some of the major headaches involved in searching and selecting eBooks.

The eBook procurement integration in SwetsWise allows users to purchase both individual titles and eBook collections. In addition, users can compare and contrast various pricing and purchase models available from different providers. The procurement features included will provide customers with a single source for purchasing eBooks and a means to select the desired access route to their acquired content, offered by publishers directly or through an aggregator.

SwetsWise now offers the unique capability to browse, acquire and manage all eBook purchases through the same seamless Web interface where customers manage their print and electronic journal subscriptions.

"Our new procurement portal confronts the complexity of the eBook market head on, creating a single platform where clients can quickly discover and compare the vendors and purchasing options available for eBook content," states Debbie Dore, Chief Commercial Officer at Swets. "Our customers have expressed the desire for an interface like eBooks in SwetsWise. The enthusiastic response we received during Beta Testing clearly illustrates we have been able to fulfill this need for them."

The comprehensive eBook catalog present within SwetsWise currently contains nearly 300,000 titles, from more than 1,000 publishers. These numbers continue to increase daily. Titles and packages from some of the world’s leading aggregators are available to order including: ACLS Humanities E-Book (HEB), Ebrary, Ingram Content Group – MyiLibrary, Safari Books Online and SkillSoft - Books 24x7. A complete overview of all eBook providers offered within the SwetsWise catalog is available for all to view at: www.swets.com/ebooks.

SwetsWise has already established itself as the most comprehensive subscription management and procurement service available, playing a critical role in the cost reduction efforts of thousands of libraries and information centers around the world.
