October 20, 2009. Novanet Libraries in Nova Scotia, Canada share the use of Relais for document delivery with other members of the Council of Atlantic University Libraries/Conseil des bibliothèques universitaires de l'Atlantique (CAUL/CBUA). The Novanet libraries also share an online catalogue and offer a second delivery service (Novanet Express) for material listed in the OPAC. The capability of the Relais system to interconnect with WorldCat Local has enabled many of the Novanet libraries to recently begin offering a one-stop document delivery service. Material held in Novanet libraries, at other CAUL libraries and at external libraries can be easily ordered via the "Request Item through Document Delivery" link. The request and patron information then populates the Relais form. Once submitted the request is passed on to the Relais system for managing the delivery of the document.
The service is available to Novanet libraries’ faculty, staff and students and registered off-campus borrowers.
