BRISTOL, UK - February 5, 2003 - Geac Library Division's UK office has once again been approved by its external Quality auditors for BS EN ISO 9001:2000 certification.
BS EN ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally recognised standard for tl implementation and use of a Quality Management System within a business or other organisation.
A Quality Management System in accordance with ISO
9001:2000 provides a set of processes that ensure a common sense approach to the management of the organisation. It ensures consistency and improvement of working practices, which in turn provides products and services that meet customer's requirements. ISO 9000 is the most commonly used international standard providing a framework for an effective quality management system.
By implementing and refining the procedures agreed with the certification body (in this case Bureau Veritas Quality International) the UK office ensures that its customers receive the best possible levels of service and support. Geac's UK office is unique in the UK in being the only Library System supplier to hold this certification - a distinction it has had since 1995. Well done all!
