Relais International is pleased to announce that the Rhode Island Office of Library & Information Services (OLIS) has selected the Relais ILL Management and Document Delivery Hosted Service. With the Relais system library staff throughout the state will be able to search the three Rhode Island union catalogs plus Brown University to fill requests.
The system can build a list of libraries that can supply a requested item and send the request to each library one at a time until it’s filled. The Relais system can also send a request to OCLC WCRS if it can’t be filled by a Rhode Island library. Both the library staff and patrons can track the request until it is either completed or cancelled. Relais provides administrative tools which help both the borrowing and lending libraries manage their workflow and generate reports. Once the system is fully configured and implemented over two hundred libraries will be using the system. The libraries include academic, public and school libraries.
Relais International is a partner of NELINET whose staff will be providing training services for OLIS after the implementation.
