August 15, 2006. The Saskatoon Public Library (SPL), Saskatoon, Saskatchewan has selected Relais ILL to automate their ILL operations. The Library is hosting the Relais system on its own server. It will be replacing their old InterLEND system.
Cinda Romuldietz, Coordinator, Automation Services for the Saskatoon Public Library, says: "We've been very pleased with the Relais team as we worked together to determine Relais ILL's suitability for Saskatoon Public Library's ILL requirements. We found Relais ILL functionality to be well-considered and supportive of our needs, and the knowledgeable and reliable Relais staff made our period of testing and training a positive experience."
SPL is taking advantage of the configurability and flexibility of Relais ILL to create two tiers of supplying libraries: Tier 1 libraries are within Saskatchewan; if a request cannot be filled by a Tier 1 library, then it is passed to the Tier 2 libraries (outside the Province) to be searched and requested as appropriate.
"We are delighted that the Saskatoon Public Library selected Relais International as their ILL & Document Delivery system vendor" says Clare MacKeigan, General Manager of Relais International. "We are especially pleased since SPL is our first Public Library customer"
