Vancouver, Canada – October 23, 2007) King and Spalding’s, one of North America’s leading law firms, announces the launch of its new Fine Art asset management system using IM technology from SydneyPLUS International, a leading developer of KM solutions.
King and Spalding’s Fine Art database originated as a simple MS Access. Seeing a need to provide better access to a priceless collection, Joan Houghton-Theall, Associate Director of Library and Records and her team at King & Spalding – Atlanta rose to the challenge of developing a new system. Working with the SydneyPLUS Implementation team, a system was designed and developed to meet the firm’s current and future KM needs.
The Fine Art asset management project made the following improvements;
- Deployed the collection through the web to all
- Improved efficiency by centralizing db management and decentralizing access to the collection
- Facilitated sharing of available art resources
With paintings from Warhol to Kandinsky the priceless collection can now be valued, viewed and appreciated from any King and Spalding office around the world. Employees can not only search and view the collection by artist, title, year, but also by geographic region, floor, and even biographic sketch.
Established in 1885, King and Spalding represent over half of the Fortune 100 companies with over 800 lawyers, and offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dubai, Frankfurt, Houston, London, New York, and Riyadh.
