February 10, 2003 TDNet, the leading supplier of electronic journals and online contents management solutions, today announced that it has reached an agreement with Journal Web Cite to take over service contracts for Journal Web Cite subscriber libraries in the U.S. and Canada.
Libraries that are using the JournalWebCite system, and have signed service contracts with Journal Web Cite, will now receive uninterrupted quality service through TDNet. In addition, TDNet, with its expanded database of over 50,000 electronic journals and 400 aggregated databases, provides a cutting-edge service with enhanced application features, such as subject and keyword searching, automatic TOC alerts, usage statistics, document delivery and article level searching and linking.
Journal Web Cite has recently decided to pursue other business opportunities apart from the library marketplace. Payments made to Journal Web Cite will be honored by TDNet and service will continue under similar terms through the end of each customer's service period. Furthermore, JournalWebCite customers will be offered a variety of upgraded renewal options.
Michael Markwith, President of TDNet Inc., said: "We believe that this arrangement is good for our business, and also presents a substantial contribution to the US library community in the face of shrinking budgets and a struggling economy. We have already made the proper arrangements to ensure a smooth and service-focused transition".
Jefferson Clark, Managing Partner for JournalWebCite, added: "Our primary concern is the well-being of our loyal customers. We are very pleased that TDNet will work with them to ensure quality uninterrupted service and provide additional services many of them have requested in the past."
