The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand selects Millennium with WebPAC Pro

Emeryville CA—Innovative announced today that The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand has selected Millennium with WebPAC Pro, the company's next-generation online catalog, to maintain the standards of their highly rated Library Services department and better serve distance-education students. The Library Services department is replacing a Geac Advance system maintained by Extensity, Inc.

"We like WebPAC Pro's up-to-date search features such as RightResult relevance ranking and the integration with WebBridge resource recommendations," says Library Manager Kim Gutchlag. "It has a very user-friendly interface with many features that support students in managing their searching, requesting, and borrowing. These are all very important in a distance-learning environment."

The Library Services department regularly receives outstanding ratings from students in the annual satisfaction survey—97% approval in the most recent year. Says Gutchlag: "Millennium's online catalog will be part of the institution's ongoing drive to further enhance and expand student services."

Library staff involved students as part of its system-selection process. WebPAC Pro's self-service features received an enthusiastic response. Gutchlag continues: "Students particularly liked features such as limiting searches to available books only, setting up alerts, viewing and editing their circulation history, and using the 'shopping cart' feature for easy requesting of items."

"We are delighted that The Open Polytechnic University has joined our growing presence in New Zealand," says William Ho, Director of Sales for Australia and New Zealand. "We are most pleased that Millennium is able to meet the unique requirements of the library to better serve their distance-learning students."
