University of Texas at Austin Libraries Select Millennium

Emeryville, CA—The Company announced today that the University of Texas at Austin Libraries have selected Millennium as their integrated library technology platform. The Libraries are the fifth-largest among academic libraries in the U.S. and are members of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). With this contract, Millennium extends its lead as the most popular integrated library system among ARL libraries to thirty-eight.

"We've had great experience with Innovative's acquisitions and serials control system and we wanted to build on this strength," says Anita Farber, Head of the Acquisitions Department. "We think that Millennium will keep us prepared for the future and abreast of standards and best practices when it comes to technology. The integration of the Innovative system opens the door to do more for our patrons with our metadata and electronic resources."

The University of Texas at Austin also selected additional Millennium tools such as External Patron Verification so library users can use the same sign-on and password that unlocks other campus e‑services; Inventory Express for rapid access to book vendor selection, price, and inventory; and Millennium Scheduler to automate routine data loading tasks.

"We are pleased to extend our application of Innovative Interfaces' solutions," says Director and Vice Provost Fred Heath. "We are confident our campus users will see enhanced library services as a result."

"We are so pleased that the University of Texas has selected Millennium," says Jerry Kline, Chairman and CEO of Innovative. "We are proud of our ability to serve libraries of their size and complexity and look forward to our partnership as new technology opportunities arise."
