The Danish National Library for the Blind selects Geac's Vubis Smart

The Danish National Library for the Blind (DBB) is an institution under the Danish Ministry of Culture and provides services to blind, visually impaired and print-disabled people. DBB has a vision: to provide equal access to information for people who cannot read conventional text.

DBB will be the third library for the reading impaired implementing the Vubis Smart library automation system: FNB in the Netherlands was the very first; the Belgian Braille Liga was the second.

DBB will use Vubis Smart to manage its customer services, such as check-out of materials, maintenance of wish lists and fully automated document supply. The system will handle a mix of "traditional circulation" checkouts (i.e. of physical materials) and "on demand" checkouts (i.e. of copies of digital master files).

The installation at DBB will also be the first Vubis Smart installation in Denmark.

Summary: Geac Libraries Division announced that The Danish National Library for the Blind has selected the Vubis Smart library automation system.
