TLC Joins VIEWS

Blacksburg, VA ? Another leading library automation firm, The Library Corporation (TLC) has joined VIEWS. VIEWS is an initiative by vendors and library service organizations for enabling web services between disparate applications used in libraries and other applications including e-learning.

TLC is a company that serves libraries (public, university, and special libraries, schools, school districts, large public libraries and library consortia) throughout the world and has done so for 30 years.

“TLC has already been exploring web services that would benefit our mutual library customers” said Ted Koppel, Senior Product Manager, and “We feel that we can both learn from, and contribute to, the success of web services in the library systems environment.”

The VIEWS group has just issued a survey to determine the web services functionality being used in the communities served and is starting the planning of transactions and functionality to be developed as the next step. A VIEWS website is being planned and until that is ready information from the meetings is posted on the NISO (www.niso.org) website.
