Best-Seller Launches BiblioMondo

In October 2000, Best-Seller in Montreal (http://www.bestseller.com/) acquired ALS International Inc. (http://www.als.co.uk/). Headquartered in Hertfordshire, England, ALSi has subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Germany and France. Best-Seller has renamed both companies BiblioMondo Inc., and on Jan. 2, 2001, it launched the World's eLibrary Network (http://www.BiblioMondo.com).

BiblioMondo, a private corporation owned by three main shareholders (its founders; TechnoCap, also of Montreal; and Investissement Desjardins) provides massively scalable networking for multimedia libraries and access to their content via the Internet or corporate intranet. It has network nodes in London, Paris, Cologne, Amsterdam, Philadelphia and Montreal and boasts 1,400 clients in 11 countries and 19 million users.
