ResourceMate registers 2,000th library

GUELPH, ON, CANADA, June 9, 2003 - Over 2,000 small- and medium-sized libraries worldwide are automated thanks to ResourceMate from Jaywil Software.

The Lutheran Church of the Apostles in Dunwoody, Georgia, is the 2,000th registered user of ResourceMate. As a bonus they receive one free year of technical support and updates.

"When I wrote ResourceMate for my wife's library ten years ago I realized that a product with many features for the right price would help a lot of people," says Brian Watson, president of Jaywil Software. "I'm delighted to say it has."

ResourceMate enables full cataloging, searching and circulating of resource library materials including many timesaving features. A favourite tool is ‘Import-from-Internet' which allows users of both the Regular and the Plus versions to import complete cataloguing data for free online.

The acceptance of ResourceMate by most of the major library resellers and their catalogues has boosted sales over the past few years," says Watson. "That and word-of-mouth promotion by our loyal customer base helped make March our best sales month ever."

April saw the highest number of registrations ever and the company has doubled its support and marketing teams to handle the new growth.

"We've also seen an increase in the number of libraries using our EntryMate(tm) cataloguing service," says David Abramsky, marketing manager. Jaywil introduced EntryMate in 2001. The service allows users to submit a text file of ISBN's and receive back full cataloguing data, ready for import into ResourceMate. Users can either manually create their list or use a handheld ISBN scanner that can be rented by the week.

Jaywil has catalogued over 70,000 items for ResourceMate users. "Even low-budget libraries choose EntryMate when they realize how much time it will save in data entry," says Abramsky.

ResourceMate's price has remained unchanged for the past seven years. "We've done this so that small libraries can afford the program," says Watson. "Our annual support fee is one of the lowest of any library automation vendor yet users rave about our 1-800 service."

ResourceMate is a Windows-based resource library automation software program designed for churches, clergy, synagogues, professionals, corporations, private schools, non-profit organizations and more. It is available for download at the company's web site (, through their toll-free number at 800-815-8370, and through several major library supply companies in Canada and the U.S. The regular version costs US$149.99 and the Plus version retails for US$299.99.
